The two likely cases of COVID-19 in Melbourne deliver a “stark reminder” to get vaccinated against the virus, according to Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly.
The two likely community transmitted infections emerged in Melbourne’s northern suburbs and are believed to be linked.
The pair are under investigation.
“It’s a stark reminder – I believe – in the message we’ve been giving about the vaccination program,” Professor Kelly said on Monday.
“Do not wait to get your vaccine, we are approaching winter very quickly.”
