A severe weather warning has been issued for heavy rainfall across southern and southeast Queensland.
Up to 150 millimetres of rain is expected today and more than 500 calls for assistance have been made to the SES mostly in south-eastern regions including the Gold Coast.
Hundreds of roads have been closed leaving properties isolated from Birdsville to the southern coast.

Emergency services have carried out several rescues after people attempted to drive through flooded roads.
