Zayn Malik wants to 'prove himself'

ZAYN Malik wants to "prove himself" with a solo career.

The 22-year-old singer - who shockingly quit One Direction earlier this year - is reportedly keen on forging out a career as a solo singer and is said to have no plans to return to the chart-topping boy band.

A source told "Zayn wants to go solo, so he can try and fly under the radar and not have the pressures of being in the world's biggest pop group.

"Zayn won't return to One Direction, and certainly not before he can prove to himself and the doubters that he can forge a successful career on his own."

Just yesterday, rumours began circulating that the star was returning to the boy band when his Twitter biography was allegedly restored to link to the band's official website.

The apparent change sparked rumours among the band's huge following of fans, with "#zayniscomingback" soon trending on Twitter worldwide.

Since departing from the band, Zayn has been linked to wanting to forge a career in the theatre and film industries and most recently to fashion.

A source said: "Zayn has always been very creative and introverted. He tried out various looks and styles during his time in One Direction, which has led to interest from top fashion houses.

"Music will always be his priority but fashion could be more than just a side project. The long-term aim could be to potentially earn a big-money endorsement deal with a huge fashion brand."
