YOUR GUIDE: Ten things to do in Gladstone this weekend

1. Oddball screening

Watch Oddball Saturday night at the BITS Oval at a free community event from 6.30pm. Food and drink will be for sale.

2. Blue Care garage sale

BLUE Care Auxiliary is hosting its monthly garage sale at 2 Margaret St on Saturday from 7am until noon.

3. Skateboard comp

A skateboard, scooter and BMX comp will kick off on Sunday from 10am - 2pm at the Agnes Water Skate Park.

4. Parkrun

PARKRUN is a free, weekly, timed five kilometre run or walk, which takes place every Saturday at 7am sharp in the Lions Park, Kin Kora Gladstone. Participating is easy, however you must register before the event on the Parkrun website to get your time. Children and dogs are welcome to participate however must be supervised at all times. 5. Library Square markets

The Library Square Markets will be open Saturday from 7am - noon outside the Gladstone City Library. The markets offer fresh produce, handmade crafts and more.

6. Country music

Enjoy the sound and atmosphere of live country music tomorrow afternoon. Country rock and roll singer Greame Jensen will be at the Bororen Hall Sunday at 2pm. Phone Sharon for details 0427185 568.

7. Reggae Roots and Blues

A chilled out day of fun and music at the Grand Hotel, Gladstone, is what the Reggae Roots and Blue event will offer residents who attend Saturday. Featuring bands The Lyrical, Jackson Dunn, Agnes Blue, Ornaments, Thinga Majig other highlights of the day will include a Yoga By Evolution class from 12.30 - 1.30 pm, a free barbeque and board games. Purchase tickets for the 18+ event at oztix.com.au, entry is $10. On Sunday a super Sunday session will be held at the Tannum Sands Hotel with the same musicians playing throughout the afternoon.

8. PCYC markets

The Gladstone PCYC will be a haven for stall holders and market goers on Sunday when its monthly market is held. The markets are held once a month from 8am - noon.

9. Moura Classic

MOURA "Muddy Water Classic" Family Fishing Competition, hosted by the Moura Fish Stocking Group Inc is an annual event to raise funds for the primary goal of purchasing Barramundi or Yellow Belly Fingerlings to restock the Dawson River. The event, which started today, runs over three days. But you can't cheat. The fishing cannot commence until 6 am this morning. A cost of $20 will get adults in and $7.50 for kids. 10. Agnes Water markets

THE Discovery Coast Markets will be held on Sunday from 7am - noon at the Seventeen Seventy SES Grounds. The markets, held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, offer fresh produce, jewellery, clothing, home wares and more.
