Yaralla throws wickets away as BITS stepped up their game

IT was touted as a clash of equals, but it was BITS which scored a convincing win over Yaralla on Saturday in its A-grade 50-over game at Yaralla's home ground.

The two sides have been level-pegging all season but it was the 2011-12 season defending premiers, BITS, who stepped up their game to win by eight wickets.

Yaralla captain Chris Bye said it was a disappointing result, with the team lacking a few players, not to mention the attitude, to get them across the line.

For Yaralla only Bye with 33 runs and Kenny Wogent (53) held their heads high.

Again, only two Yaralla players took wickets.

Once again, Bye stepped up, with 1 for 13, while fast bowler Trent Sorohan, who has only recently returned from the Australian Country Cricket Championships claimed 1 for 41 off nine overs.
