Man offers $3000 reward for return of poodle

IT has been two weeks since Garrett Atavie has seen his apricot toy poodle, Winnie, who was stolen on May 7.

Mr Atavie has reported Winnie's disappearance to police and has ramped up the appeal with a Facebook page "Find my puppy Winnie".

He is now offering a $3000 reward for information and her safe return.

Mr Atavie said he had been overwhelmed by all the support he had received from so many people.

"I have had over 20,000 hits on my Facebook page," he said.

"My page has been shared all over the country from Port Douglas to Sydney."

Mr Atavie said he had tried and looked everywhere.

"As time goes on its unlikely that Winnie is still alive," he said.

"Over the next few days I'm winding down my search.

"However, I still have hope, especially when all these people tell me about their dogs returning after months and months."

Mr Atavie said a suspicious white Hilux had been seen in the Gladstone region recently.

If spotted, he urged residents to write down the number plate details and, if possible, take photos.

If you recognise Winnie, contact the police, quoting Police Report No: QP 1500667186.
