Gladstone man arrested in worldwide firearms bust
FORMER Gladstone High student Buddy Lipczynski was among 21 people arrested in a worldwide investigation into the sale of illegal firearms.
The 26-year-old is alleged to have ordered illegal firearms over the 'dark web' from a 33-year-old man from Montana in the United States.
United States Homeland Security identified the Montana man last September and used his contacts to locate the destinations of six parcels headed for addresses in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT.
The Australian Federal Police, Queensland Police and Australian Customs and Border Protection executed 15 search warrants in February and March including at Lipczynski's New Auckland address (pictures below). He is scheduled to appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court on May 26 to face 16 state charges including possessing weapons, possessing a shortened firearm and producing dangerous drugs. The AFP is waiting for information from Homeland Security before pressing federal charges.
Arrests were also made in Europe, North America, and the United Kingdom.
