TOOWOOMBA mums are invoking their inner marsupial to lose baby-weight and get back in shape.

"Kangatraining" classes have been operating in the city since February, and their popularity is on the rise.

The innovative regime ditches barbells in favour of babies, with mothers using their bundles of joy to get fit.

"The first part of the class is core training, and the babies are an integral part," trainer Natalie Fraser said.

"After that we put the babies into their carriers, allowing the mums to stay close to their bubs while improving their strength and endurance using the babies' extra weight."

Kangatraining Toowoomba runs two weekly classes.

To join, call Natalie on 0411254450 or email nat@kangatraining.com.au.
