Video: Work wear staff go pink for breast cancer charity
HOURS of effort went into the preparations to host a Breast Ever Brunch at Totally Work Wear on Thursday.
Employees of TWW hosted the brunch to fundraise for the Queensland Mater Hospital - Chicks in Pink program.
The ladies of TWW put around $300 towards the fundraiser as well as donating hours of time baking cupcakes and decorating the store.
The store was covered head to toe in pink decorations, employees of the store were sporting pink uniforms to support the cause.
TWW store manager Colleen Bates said it was a great opportunity to have fun while giving something back.
"One of my employees Janice Foster had this amazing idea that we host a brunch to raise money towards breast cancer - I never would have expected that it turn out as big as it did," she said.
"We have everything pink here to support the cause - it was a really fun way to get the team here together involved in the program.
"It's a small donation to enjoy an all-day morning tea and support the cause.
"We are also having a 10% store wide discount and raffles to add to the fun event."
Mrs Bates said she was proud to be hosting the event.
"Everyone got involved - I'm really pleased with how it all turned out. We are going to start involving ourselves more in these type of events - anything to support our community or a good cause.
"It's our first time holding the event and we will definitely be doing it again. It's a good way to engage with our customers and the store looks fantastic.
Local businesses of the region donated including Blue Steel, which donated pink work gear to be purchased at the brunch.
All of the funds raised went directly towards research of breast cancer disease.
Totally Work Wear is located at 99 Hanson Rd.
