Woman robbed, assaulted after ignoring men's advances

A GROUP of men assaulted and robbed a woman at a Queensland railway station late on Wednesday night.

Police say the men approached the woman at about 11.05pm at the Park Road Railway Station in Woolloongabba and tried to engage in conversation.

After she ignored the men, they followed her to the corner of Park Road and Fluers Street where they assaulted her and attempted to steal her handbag.

When they were disturbed by another man, they fled the scene on-foot.

Nobody was seriously injured.

Police would urge anyone that saw any suspicious behaviour around this area last night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
