Workers rescue woman injured in dog attack

UPDATE:  Two dogs have been seized by the council following a dog attack at Raceview this morning.

Workers at a nearby property rushed to help the woman who was then taken to hospital with arm and shoulder injuries.

Councillor Sheila Ireland said the dogs' owners were "co-operating fully" with the council.

 

EARLIER: A woman is in hospital with arm and shoulder injuries following a dog attack this morning.

Queensland Ambulance Service says the woman, aged in her 50s, sustained the injuries at a residence in Warner St, Raceview about 9.20am.

It is unclear whether the woman was actually bitten by the dog or if she sustained scratches.

Ipswich City Council has been notified and is investigating the incident.

The woman has been taken to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition.
