Police charge woman with drug offences

GLADSTONE police dealt with drugs and a motorbike crash at the weekend.

A female driver was charged with drug-related offences when her car was stopped by police on Saturday night.

Police pulled over a Kia Rio on Auckland St, Gladstone, about 8.40pm.

Police said the 36-year-old driver was acting abnormally.

She was taken Gladstone Hospital where blood samples were taken.

The woman was charged with driving while under the influence of liquor or a drug, possession of a dangerous drug and having possession of property in connection with drugs.

The woman will appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court at a later date.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old youth was injured when his motorbike crashed in bushland off Harvey Rd in Gladstone about 11.20am on Saturday.

Police and ambulance officers attended the scene.
