Young woman rushed to hospital after snake bite

A WOMAN in her mid-30s was bitten by a snake while bush walking at Lowmead today.

Queensland Ambulance Services confirmed the woman was bitten on the foot.

A QAS spokeswoman was unable to provide details on what type of snake bit the woman and whether it was poisonous.

"The woman applied a compression bandage to her foot before paramedics arrived," the spokesperson said.

The woman was transported to Bundaberg Hospital and is in a stable condition.

The incident occurred after 10am.
