Woman allegedly attacks police office with piece of timber

A 39-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged after a police officer was allegedly struck in the head and leg with a piece of timber at Mount Morgan on Tuesday night.

Police were responding to a disturbance at 10.15pm at a River St address when the incident occurred.

The officer attended the Mount Morgan Base Hospital and has since been released.

The 39-year-old local woman has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and obstruct police.

She is expected to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on December 14.

Police investigations are continuing.
