Booval woman, 39, robbed at knifepoint in Fortitude Valley

A WOMAN walking through a Fortitude Valley car park has been grabbed from behind and threatened by a man armed with a knife.

Preliminary information indicates the 39-year-old Booval woman was walking through the Brunswick Central Carpark at 421 Brunswick Street around 7.30pm on Thursday night when a man grabbed her in a bear hug, held a knife to her throat and demanded cash.

The woman screamed and struggled with the man before he fled empty handed and was last seen running towards Brunswick and Ivory streets.

The man is described as Caucasian, aged between 18 to 20 years, 165 to 170cms tall and was wearing a grey and white hooded jumper and dark coloured pants.

The woman was not physically injured and police investigations are continuing with police appealing for anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the vicinity to contact Crime Stoppers.
