A visit to Summer Bay comes true
IN May this year 15-year-old Emily from Gladstone had her cherished wish to meet the cast of Home & Away granted by Make-A-Wish Australia.
Emily, who has Acute lymphoblastic leukemia, just loves the watching the popular Channel 7 show. She never misses an episode, making sure to record any she might miss due to trips to the hospital for treatment.
Emily and her family, mum Shannon, dad Scott and brother Joshua, were flown to Sydney to visit the Summer Bay set courtesy of Make-A-Wish.
She was able to have photographs taken with a number of the cast. The day was made even more memorable when Emily was able to spend some time chatting and having photographs taken with her favourite actor, Rebecca Breeds, who plays Ruby Buckton on the show.
"It is an experience that Emily with remember for a long time," Shannon said.
While in Sydney the family also managed a trip to the Taronga Park Zoo and a tour of the Opera House. The highlight of Emily’s time in Sydney was definitely the visit to the Home & Away set and meeting Rebecca.
