Whirlwind of great events to choose from in Gladstone

I NEED a nap!

The last couple of weeks have been a little hectic. Here's a snapshot of what I've been doing...

A couple of weeks ago we had our X-Men movie night here in Gladstone, and then we headed down to Agnes for our 1770 Festival broadcast on the Friday morning.

We got there after 10pm, to be up at 4am to get the radio show underway.

Then it was pack-up and head back to Gladstone to head to The Old Station Fly-In, which I got home from at about 11pm.

Then it was Saturday morning down to Agnes Water for breakfast and ready for the parade, and then back to town, broadcasting from Boyne Tannum until 1pm.

I then hosted a high tea with 200 glamorous ladies to help St Francis School's fundraiser.

Then it was back to Gladstone at 6pm for dinner and to find a pillow.

Then up early Sunday to help Rotaract with their Matter Little Miracles Walk at the marina, then off to work for more paperwork, before a visit to the Boyne Pub for the Anika fundraiser crab auctions, races and raffles, raising close to $10,000. I think I got home after 5pm to do a couple of loads of washing and fall asleep.

Then the weekend just gone saw us at the official launch of our all-new 4CC, followed on Saturday night as MC for the Variety Ball, and on Sunday by broadcasting for the full length of the hugely successful EcoFest.

That's only a snapshot of what I could have been at, what with basketball on offer on Friday, Capras footy on Saturday and the drags as well.

Plus, I missed out on seeing Matt Hall do his amazing stunts in the plane over the weekend at the Fly-In.

Maybe I'll get to stay out there and soak up all the flying action next year.

In saying all that, everywhere I went Mayor Gail Sellers and local member Liz Cunningham were hot on my tail, which is normal for both of them.

They are always out supporting events and this weekend was no different.

To each and every one of the many volunteers who gave their time to help the various events - thank you.

To the people who organised these events - thank you.

To the businesses who gave items to auction - thank you.

I am blessed to be able to do what I do for a living, and for that I am eternally grateful.

Thank you.
