Where to celebrate Halloween in Gladstone

IF you'd like to get into the spirit of Halloween on Friday, here's a list of some of the homes in Gladstone that are participating.

This information has been compiled from posts on The Observer's Facebook page, and from the Gladstone Halloween page collated by Hosanna Croker, who has put in a lot of hard work building excitement about trick or treating on Friday.

>> Shields family gets into spirit of Halloween

There is also a lot of information on the Gladstone Halloween page about cool things to make, and photos from people who have been busy making decorations and tasty, scary treats.

You can check out the Gladstone Halloween page here.

Homes happy to have trick or treaters knock on their front door are encouraged to tie a balloon to their mailbox, and/or have their front light on.

EVENTS:

Gladstone PCYC Roller Derby is hosting a Spooktacular Skate Night roller disco for all ages on Halloween night, with prizes for the best costume.

The fun will kick off at the PCYC at 6.30pm and run until 9pm. Entry is $10.

Calliope Library is hosting two Halloween events on Friday.

There will be a Special Spooky Storytime at 10.30am, where kids and parents can come dressed as their favourite character, ghost, ghoul, monster or witch and listen to spooky stories.

For older children, there will be pizza and prizes from 5pm-6pm.

Nagoorin State School P&C is hosting a Halloween disco at the Nagoorin Hall on Friday night.

It will be a safe way for children to enjoy Halloween, with glow in the dark and flashing novelties for sale, prizes for best dressed, and a sausage sizzle and drinks.

The sausage sizzle starts at 6.30pm, with the disco from 7pm to 9pm.

For the adults, the Rocky Glen Hotel and Stratosphere Australia will be hosting a Halloween Rave not to be missed.

Ver5atile and Jack Morgan will bring all the best electro, dubstep and commercial dance hits.

Those in their spookiest costumes will have the chance to win a double pass to Stereosonic in Brisbane.

The fun kicks off at 8pm.

Monster Guitars will be playing at the Reef Hotel from 6pm. Get dressed in your craziest Halloween attire.

There will be freaky food specials, creepy cocktails and prizes for best dressed.

Monster Guitars are playing until 10pm and there will be a popcorn party at 10.30pm, with popcorn shot out of a cannon.
