FRIDAY:

Speed-dating at Yaralla Sports Club

SINGLES are invited to participate in Yaralla Sports Club's first speed-dating event on Valentine's Day.

Two sessions will be held. The first at 7.30pm is for men and women aged 30+, and the second from 9.30pm is for 18-30-year-olds.

Feel the love at roller disco

THE whole family, couples, singles - everyone - is invited to share the love on Valentine's Day with the February roller disco.

Hosted by the Gladstone PCYC Roller Derby League, the V-Day skate is an opportunity for all to dress up in red and have some fun at the all-age disco.

For those who don't own a pair, there are skates available for hire as part of the $10 entry fee. The event will be held at the Gladstone PCYC in Yarroon St from 6.30pm to 9pm.

Blue Care garage sale

BLUE Care will hold its next garage sale at 2 Margaret St on Friday and Saturday from 7am on both days. Closing time on Friday is 3pm and Saturday at noon.

Donations of good saleable items can be left at the centre at any time, while arrangements can be made for the pick-up of larger items by phoning the centre on 4979 4499 and leaving a message or by phoning Ted on 4972 4757.

Ice skating at GECC

ICE skating at the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre marquee will continue until February 24 to celebrate the Winter Olympics.

The Winter Magic Ice Skating rink had originally been scheduled to close on Sunday, after giving Gladstone residents and visitors a cool place to be over summer.

Evening sessions will be held on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 7.30pm to 9pm, with daytime sessions on Saturday and Sunday at 10am, noon, 2pm and 4pm.

Kids' Big Night Out

YARALLA Sports Club invites all children aged 2-12 to the Kids' Big Night Out on the second Friday of each month.

Mum and Dad, enjoy some 'me' time in the Club whilst the kids have dinner and a fun night of movies, games and activities.

The kids-only event is fully supervised and tickets include dinner and drinks. The event features a fun night of movies, games and activities.

Tickets are available from the concierge desk for $10. The event runs from 6-9pm.

Valentine's evening by the river

CALLIOPE River Historical Village is hosting a Valentine's night event in a tranquil bush setting, featuring a relaxed evening of dinner, dancing, music, fashion parades, raffles and lucky door prizes.

Surf to the Turf Family Race Day

THIS race day is all about the beach. Pull out your best beach wear and head down to the Gladstone Turf Club in support of the Tannum Sands Surf Lifesaving Club.

Activities for the kids, games, local races, TAB, bookies and beachwear fashions on the field will keep everyone entertained.

Dress rules apply for the members' lounge, and please no cozzies! Tickets cost $12.50 and the fun kicks off at 11am.

Gladstone Waitangi Day

KIWIS will celebrate Waitangi Day, which acknowledges and celebrates the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, New Zealand's founding document, at the Gladstone Showgrounds from 10am to 6pm.

Gladstone Kotahitanga Roopu will host the event which features food and cultural stalls, competitions and plenty of entertainment.

Food will include the opular underground cooking commonly known as "hangi", as well as Pacific Islander food and New Zealand-grown seafood such as kai moana, mussel chowder, creamed paua and kinna punnets.

The main entertainment will be provided by Gladstone Kotahitanga Kapa Haka as well as the Flowers of the Pacific.

Entry is $5, with children under 12 admitted for free.

Gladstone Home Buyer Expo

LOCAL experts will be on hand to answer questions about buying property in the Gladstone region at this event at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre.

Information will be available on deposits, where to begin, government grants, hidden costs, loans and buying a new home.

The expo will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm, with presentations at 11am and 3pm. More here.

Biloela Markets in the Park

HELD on the third Saturday of each month, Biloela Markets in the Park offer a wide variety of stalls including fresh produce, a huge variety of plants, jewellery, clothing, accessories and hand crafted goods.

The markets are held in Barimis Park, Callide St, Biloela, from 8am to 2pm.

Healthy gut seminar

THE GAPS diet support group meets on the third Saturday of each month at 94 Glenlyon St, Gladstone at 9.30am.

GAPS, gut and psychology syndrome can send toxicity in your gut and flow through the body to the brain.

Miriam Vale Lions Markets in the Park

THE Miriam Vale Lions Club hosts the Miriam Vale Markets on the third Saturday of each month at Blomfield St, Miriam Vale.

Stroll through the delightful cool and shady park to view a variety of stalls, or try a sizzling fillet steak, sausage or bacon burger.

The markets run from 7am to noon.

Get fit with Parkrun

STOCKLAND Gladstone and Parkrun Australia have launched a unique, community run program that provides free weekly timed 5km running events for people of all ages and abilities every Saturday morning from 7am-8am at Lions Park.

Love Your Body Festival

LOVE Your Body is a family-friendly festival that will showcase local providers and interactive sessions for health, wellbeing and sustainability.

The line-up includes yoga for blokes, kids and mums-to-be, fitness, meditation, massage, nutrition, tai chi, hypnosis for healing, facial and skin care, belly dancing and much more.

Browse the selection of stalls which feature permaaculture, organic and gourmet foods, jewellery and natural products.

The festival will be held at 71 Springs Rd, Agnes Water, from 8.30am to 4pm. Entry is $10. More here.

Rotary K-Mart Markets

THE Rotary Club of Gladstone Midday Markets are held on the third Sunday of each month. There are up to 120 undercover stalls with food, coffee, cakes, jewellery, hand made soaps, plants, toys, clothes and bric-a-brac.

There is also entertainment from local artists. The markets are held in the K-Mart car park at Stockland, Kin Kora, on the corner of Dawson Rd and Philip St, from 7.30am to 12.30pm.

Cedar Galleries farmers markets

FARMERS Markets are held every Sunday at Cedar Galleries. The markets provide locally grown fresh produce, various market stalls, rides and jumping castles for the kids.

Come along for breakfast or coffee and cake at the cafe, and don't forget to say hi to the popular alpacas.

The markets run from 8am to noon at 49544 Bruce Hwy, Benaraby.

Sunday session at Bojangles

LOCAL boys Tom Weber and AMB will hit the stage at Bojangles for this week's Sunday Sessions.

The sessions offer the ideal opportunity to end your week kicking back, listening to good tunes with your mates. There'll be live music from 4pm.

Sunday session at Yachties

GLADSTONE Yacht Club will host a Sunday session in the Yachties beer garden.

The session will feature live music from Dvanti from 2.30pm-6.30pm and drink specials.
