Wet weather netball did not deter Gladstone women down south

NETBALL: Two Gladstone-based teams just finished short of glory at the recent and wet NetFest held on the Sunshine Coast.

Maddison Francisco's Not Fast Just Furious team finished runner-up in division three and she said it was a success.

"It was the first time that our team had actually played together as a group so I think we did really well considering," she said.

"It was the first time being back on the court for me for a while so defiantly enjoyed it and came out with no injuries which is even better."

Sam Dippel's Fusion side finished second in the division six category after it finished as minor premiers.

"We were a team together from Gladstone to begin with and since then some players have moved, but our core team is made up of Gladstone ex-Gladstone players and it's the fourth year playing NetFest," Dippel said.

Meanwhile the Fast Five competition continues in the Gladstone Netball Association each Tuesday night.
