Welcoming committee on hand as Toomey arrives home

CROSSFIT athlete Tia-Clair Toomey has been welcomed home by a sizable crowd at Gladstone Airport today, following her success at the world CrossFit Games in the US.

Toomey placed second, making her one of the fittest women in the world.

Her welcoming committee included Gladstone Mayor Gail Sellers and Member for Gladstone Glenn Butcher.

Toomey, 22, is the owner of CrossFit Gladstone.

At the games, she finished just 50 points behind the first placegetter after four gruelling days of competition.
