Webster helps Breakers find their best form
AFTER missing the finals last season, opening the 2014-15 NBL campaign with wins against grand finalists Perth and Adelaide signalled the New Zealand Breakers were back.
The return of American guard Cedric Jackson, who led the club to consecutive titles and was the league's MVP in 2013, has played a key role in the turnaround.
But the real surprise packet has been fellow guard Corey Webster (pictured), who was named player of the week last round for his 25-point performance against Melbourne United.
The 25-year-old has averaged 15ppg this season and said his experience with the Tall Blacks in this year's World Cup convinced him he could play at the top level.
Webster will need another big game tonight to stop the high-flying Sydney Kings.
In tonight's other games, Wollongong takes on Townsville and Perth hosts Cairns.
