WIND speeds have slowed down and the sun is shining --- it's a good start to the week.

Today temperatures will reach a top of 30 degrees, while later in the week they will scorch to 33.

It's unlikely the rain will pour down today - with a 20% chance of a shower offshore the south of Cape Capricorn and a near zero chance elsewhere.

Winds will vary between 15 - 20 knots in a south easterly direction, before turning to easterly in the evening.

It looks like the sun will shine for the rest of the week and temperatures will reach between 22 - 33 degrees.
