Wayne Dover called 'sleaze' before nightclub death: court

A WOMAN has given evidence this morning about how she heard a man call Wayne Dover a "sleaze" before the Sunshine Coast man started being punched.

Matthew John Hill and brothers Wade Leigh Goldsworthy and Blake Nathan Goldsworthy are currently on trial at Brisbane Supreme Court after pleading not guilty to Mr Dover's manslaughter.

On November 29, 2013 Mr Dover went to a recently opened nightclub when he was allegedly killed.

A woman who worked for Mr Dover and who was friends with Mr Hill told the court this morning she and a group of people were at the club celebrating Mr Hill's birthday.

After the club closed she said she, Mr Dover and the three accused men left the club at about the same time.

She told the court she was speaking to Mr Dover outside a kebab shop when Wade Goldsworthy called Mr Dover a sleaze.

She also told the court she saw the Goldsworthy men punching Mr Dover who was on the ground.

She said Mr Hill was sitting down on a chair and stood up when she pulled him back by his shirt, asking him not to get involved.

The trial continues.
