African children's choir spreads message of hope
RESIDENTS will have the chance to take a look at the traditional forms of African music and dance when the Watoto Children's Choir visits the Gladstone region.
With vibrant, original African music, energetic dance routines and life-transforming stories, the tour is indicative of the new generation of leaders emerging out of Watoto.
"Through the choir's Concert of Hope, we share a message of transformation by telling the story of Africa's rescued orphans and women," Watoto founder Gary Skinner said.
The Watoto Children's Choir has travelled internationally since 1994, bringing its energetic fusion of contemporary gospel and traditional African rhythm across Australia, Canada, the UK and Asia.
During its most recent tour, Beautiful Africa: A New Generation, the choir will visit Biloela for a free concert.
The tour was initiated by Watoto Child Care Ministries, a holistic care program which serves the dire needs of African people.
Since its inception, 66 choirs have travelled globally, providing the children with a bigger world view and an opportunity most would otherwise never get.
The choir will perform at the Biloela District Baptist Church, 1 Valley View Dr, Biloela, on Tuesday, September 23 at 7pm.
Entry is free.
