Water rates notices have now been sent out

RATEPAYERS should start checking the mailbox for their half-yearly water rates bills from council.

The notice contains information on how to reduce and track water usage to lower the bill and make sure there are no leaks in the piping, costing residents more than they are using.

"Even small actions to reduce the use of water can deliver significant results," Cr Karen Porter said.

The brochure also contains a table that residents can use to regularly record their water use.

"Monitoring water use enables early detection of anomalies that could be caused by concealed leaks or reticulation failures," she said.

Water rates payments are due by Friday, March 4 and residents can check payment options on their notice.

For more information or assistance with your water rates notice, phone Council on 4970 0700 or visit www.gladstone.qld.gov.au/rates
