EMERGENCY services rushed to the scene of a truck fire on the Cunningham Highway on Saturday afternoon, but not before locals rushed to the aid of the driver.

Onlookers report they did all they could, but were unable to salvage the man's hay bales from fire.

Toowoomba local Anna Moo reported the driver looked devastated as he paced around the wreckage.
