NETBALL: Emma Small showed nerves of steel to seal the deal for her grand final-winning Gems in a double over-time thriller against Valley Opals on Saturday.

The Cadet 1 decider had it all and the game went beyond regulation time and the teams could not be separated after the two-minute over-time period at 20-all.

Now it came down to the first side to get to a two-goal lead.

And that was where Emma came to the fore where she scored the clutch basket to seal the deal in what is the team's final season at junior level.

"It was a relief, but it was also so stressful," an emotional Emma said when she took the final shot of the match.

"It was really good because this was our last season (in this grade).

"The coach told us to slow it down and play our own game and have fun...this is our last game."

Opals coach, Glenda Hammond said neither side deserved to lose and applauded her players for their effort.

Stacey Ereuti was the star in Valleys Rockets' 43-28 win against Little Birdies in the Senior 3 decider.

She was clearly the difference between both teams.
