MOTOR SPORT: The motorbike track at Diglum will roar into action from tomorrow and Sunday morning with round four of the Central Queensland Off Road Series.
Curtis Coast Trail Riding Club media representative Rick Goldstone said it will be a big weekend.
Deakin has his say:
"There has been a huge amount of interest especially after the first round,” he said. "It draws a lot of interest because of the type of track it is and we have riders from as far as Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.”
Goldstone predicts there will be as many as 50 junior and between 100 and 120 senior riders across the weekend which will be split with seniors tomorrow and juniors on Sunday.
"It will be mainly solo racing and the seniors it will be five hours and three hours for the juniors in a cross-country format,” he explained. "Some of the riders to look out for are Justin Long and Jason Rice in the seniors and Zac Perry and Jack Blakely in the juniors.” Scrutineering starts from 7am both days and the track is situated off Cedar Creek Road approximately 40km inland from Calliope.
Entry is free for spectators and there will be special vantage points as well.
