NETBALL: It's a massive day and early evening tomorrow with 10 Gladstone Netball Association grand finals played from 4-6pm.

And for one veteran, to win a grand final would be extra special. Valleys Stars' captain Tracey Calis has extra motivation to win against reigning premiers Yaralla Falcons in the Senior A division because her daughter Zoe is in the same team and in her first senior season.

"We have played hockey and basketball together, but netball is the last sport that we have played together and it would be great to win the grand final together," Calis said. "I have played in lots of grand finals and if we win, this will be the most cherished."

Calis will join Suzette Meiring as the shooters in a team that is supposedly in "transition" because of the changes from last year's line-up.

"We only have three players remaining from last year and two returning seniors Ellie Palmero and Nikita Laburny," she said.

Calis said Falcons' shooters needed to be contained. Falcons' centre Melanie Dyball said she and Calis went back a long way on the court as rivals and teammates. "It's about a 15-year rivalry, but we have played together representing Gladstone as well," Dyball said.

She has played for the Falcons for 30 years and it's the youth coming through that excites Dyball.

"We have also brought in our juniors and we'll see after Saturday if I am to retire," she said.
