Warwick business break-ins could be related: police

UPDATE: POLICE are investigating whether a series of overnight break-ins at Warwick businesses are linked.

Would-be thieves attempted to smash their way into four Warwick businesses in the early hours of this morning, causing minor damage.

Ensbey Electrical, Regency Park Retirement Village and Ken O'Dea Floor Coverings were all struck.

Warwick police were alerted to the break-in at Ensbey Electrical after the alarm was triggered at 1AM.

Warwick police Sergeant Des Canning said the offenders were stopped by an alarm and fled the scene.

Just two hours later an alarm was triggered at Regency Park Retirement Village.

Police say a locked rear door was broken in.

Sgt Canning said no property was taken.

"The offenders were disturbed by alarms," he said.

Police were also called to Ken O'Dea Floor Coverings on Betta Place, however no property was reported missing.

A business on Enterprise St also had a steel door damaged in an attempted break-in.

Sgt Canning said scene of crimes teams had been on site at the affected businesses and investigations were ongoing.

The front doors of the Bisley St business were smashed in and the office was rifled through.

At 3AM, an alarm was triggered at Regency Park Retirement Village.

Police say a locked rear door was broken in.

Investigators have also been called to Ken O'Dear Floor Coverings on Betta Place this morning.

Investigations into all three break-ins are continuing.
