Wallabies wary of Pumas on the rebound

RUGBY: Wallabies winger Dane Haylett-Petty is expecting Argentina to prove a stern test despite the South Americans' thumping loss to the All Blacks on the weekend.

Australia takes on the Pumas in the next round of the Rugby Championship in Perth on Saturday night buoyed by a 23-17 win over South Africa in Brisbane.

Argentina was beaten 57-22 by the undefeated New Zealanders in Waikato on Saturday but Haylett-Petty said that result had no bearing on this week's match.

"I think this week will be a really tough game,” he said.

"It's going to be a different challenge but we're definitely looking forward to it.

"I think for us we're just trying to focus on the way that we're playing and each week we've brought in a few new things and got better each week.

"I think we're at the moment just focusing on what we see.”

Wallabies coach Michael Cheika also said all the team's focus would be on Saturday's game at nib Stadium.

"You play the next game, don't even worry about that stuff,” he said.

"We didn't play last year to win it, we just wanted to play each game as best we could and it turned out that way.

"Let's just do everything we can to play well this week and see what happens.”
