Walking dead set to thrill Gladstone in Boomtown

HUNDREDS of zombies wearing hi-vis are set to hit the stage in the Queensland Music Festival's production of Boomtown.

The scene is set in the 1980s and a little boy, George, is searching for his family amongst the industrial infrastructure in Gladstone.

"The zombies introduce the whole industry scene. There will be about 200 zombies dressed in hi-vis and are all heading off to work," producer Marguerite Pepper said.

She said this production was the biggest ever by the company, with more than 350 people involved.

The entire cast of performers and musicians are Gladstone-based. The musical will be held from July 18 to 21.
