Vintage bargains up for grabs at fundraising high tea

ANTIQUE tools, cancer research and a wedding dress from 1945 is an odd mix but one that will make for an interesting day for those looking to support a good cause, and come away with a bargain.

Gladstone Club of Rotary Sunrise and the Gladstone Branch of the Cancer Council are coming together to put on an authentic afternoon of high tea in the English tradition and all things vintage to raise money for cancer research.

The event is being held on June 14 at the Camelot Motel from 1-5pm. Tickets are $60 for adults and $55 for concession, with all proceeds donated to the Cancer Council.

Kerry Young has been collecting vintage clothing since the 1970s and was inspired to host the event after losing her brother to cancer last year.

She said she wanted men and women to come along to the event.

Phone 0439 706 229 for more details or email vintage_bookings@hotmail.com.

The day will include raffles, a vintage auction of 1950s dresses and awards for best outfit.
