MotorMania to be launched
THE Camco CQ MotorMania gets off to a turbo-charged start on Friday night, with the launch of the inaugural event in Gladstone.
V8 drivers Tony D’Alberto, Tim Slade, Jack Perkins and Ryal Harris will be at the launch from 5pm onwards at the Leo Zussino Building at the Marina.
The night will celebrate the start of Central Queensland’s biggest motorsport event.
Supported by Gladstone Autopro, the free activities start when people can meet the V8 drivers in person, get a picture with the All Hours Glass Grid Girls and meet the muscle behind the event at the local motorsport clubs’ displays.
The guests of honour include V8 driver D’Alberto, who has been competing in the V8 Supercar Championship Series since taking the title of 2007 Fujitsu Supercar Series Champion, and Perkins, son of legend Larry Perkins.
Following the official opening of Camco Group MotorMania CQ at 6pm, the All Hours Glass Grid Girl final will start, with eight stunning girls competing for the title of All Hours Glass Miss MotorMania CQ.
From 7.30pm get your pit pass and join an exclusive evening with the V8 drivers.
Pit passes for the evening cost $35.
The passes provide entry to a canapé function and charity auction, with proceeds going to local hospitals.
“Camco Group MotorMania CQ has been two years in the planning and many more years in dreaming.
“To be noticed by the national motor sport industry is a real credit to the hundreds of people who have made this event a reality,” event manager Ellie Traynor said.
“With 25 different events and well over 20 regional clubs involved, this is a true community event and something we as a region can be very proud of,” Ms Traynor said.
Pit passes can be purchased from Gladstone Autopro or by calling 4976 0555.
