Urangan mum on ice and weed at time of car crash
A 38-YEAR-old Urangan woman who crashed into a power pole at Kawungan on August 13 was under the influence of drugs.
A police-ordered blood test showed mother-of-two Katrina Heath had concentrations of amphetamines, methamphetamines and tetrahydrocannabinol in her blood at the time of the offence.
Heath pleaded guilty and was charged with driving under the influence in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court oon Wednesday.
Heath was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for six months.
Magistrate Graeme Tatnell said drugs could be detected in a person's system long after they were consumed.
"It stays in your system for weeks," Mr Tatnell said.
