Work to upgrade Calliope boat ramp begins

WORK starts today on a $735,000 upgrade to the boat ramp at the Calliope River Hot Water Outlet.

The existing ramp will be widened in the same style as the ramp at Toolooa Bends to allow for better access.

Member for Gladstone Glenn Butcher said the floating walkway would be a great addition to the boat ramp, making it easier for local boaties to launch their boats in busy times.

Elite Retaining Systems has been awarded the contract for the works.

All going well with the weather, the boat ramp expansion is expected to be completed by September.
