CQUniversity celebrates 35 years in Gladstone

IT WAS a fitting start to what promises to be a big year for CQUniversity, Gladstone.

Yesterday 34 students attended a graduation ceremony held in the Leo Zussino Building.

Students from a variety of backgrounds graduated with qualifications from a diverse range of fields including nursing, engineering and information systems.

This year is a particularly significant one for the university as it celebrates its 35th year in Gladstone.

Attendees heard from special guest speaker and former head of campus Rex Metcalfe.

Mr Metcalfe was the first head of campus, a position he remained in for 17 years and he felt honoured to speak at the ceremony.

"I've seen huge development at the CQUniversity campus and in Gladstone since I left," he said.

"CQUniversity continues to be a wonderful place to study," he said.

"The staff here are wonderful and extremely dedicated."
