United ready to unleash new man on Cardiff

MANCHESTER United's record-breaking signing Juan Mata is set to make his debut against Cardiff in the EPL clash at Old Trafford tomorrow morning.

The Spanish international (pictured) joined the Red Devils from Chelsea for $70 million, smashing the $A57 million United paid Tottenham for Dimitar Berbatov in 2008.

United trails ladder leaders Arsenal by 14 points. The Gunners are in action at Southampton tomorrow. Meanwhile, bottom-of-the-ladder Cardiff has also been busy in the transfer market.

Manchester United duo Wilfried Zaha (loan) and Fabio Da Silva (permanent) are set to join, as well as Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones.

Liverpool hosts Everton in the 222nd Merseyside derby with the fourth-placed Reds just a point clear of the Blues. Swansea plays Fulham, while Crystal Palace hosts Hull and Newcastle is at Norwich.
