Couples take advantage of date

THIS year alone is significant in terms of numerology, with one of the most anticipated dates occurring tomorrow – the 10th day of the 10th month of the 10th year of the millennium.

According to, the numerical patterns coming out of 2010 suggest that 10 10 10 really does have great significance.

And it’s not just the numerologist that thinks so.

Eighteen couples have booked to be married tomorrow at Brisbane’s Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, with at least two Gladstone couples also opting to make their wedding even more significant by getting married tomorrow.

Attorney-General Cameron Dick said the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages had received significant interest from couples who want to exchange vows on the 10th day of the 10th month in the year 2010.

“One couple has even chosen to get married at 10.10am on 10/10/10, which should make it very easy for them to remember their anniversary,” he said.

“They chose the date as the number 10 traditionally means ‘complete’ and ‘perfect’ in the Chinese community.”

Mr Dick said last year, 27 couples were married at the Brisbane registry on 09/09/09, and in the previous year, 32 couples wed on 08/08/08.

“It was also busy in 2007, with 14 weddings at the Brisbane registry and a total of 581 taking place across the state on 07/07/07,” Mr Dick said.

“Thirteen couples also have their eyes set on marrying on Wednesday 20/10/2010, which is more weddings than we usually conduct on a weekday.

The numerology website also outlined the natural path for 10 is to bring things to the “next level” and is the number for innovation.

The numbers 10 10 10 are being used to promote urgent environmental factors with thousands of events around the world set for tomorrow, by organisations such as Greenpeace, and Creative Visions Foundation.

Some lucky people will also be celebrating special occasions such as birthdays and wedding anniversaries.

But beware, it is also a full moon. And the number 10 will continue to be significant, until 2019.
