Union gets behind Mick and Billy
THE Combined Unions has thrown its support behind Gladstone's Olympic representatives boxer Billy Ward and Australian boxing team assistant coach Mick Daly.
The union is holding a raffle for the team to help ease financial pressure on Billy's family and are confident of raising $5000.
The tickets are drawn on August 4 at 3pm at the Rocky Glen Hotel. Tickets are on sale from noon.
Billy's first London Olympic fight is scheduled for tomorrow where he will match up against Yosbany Veitia Soto in the Men's Light Fly (49kg) weight division.
