Two-year-old boy treated for possible snake bite
A TWO-YEAR-OLD Collinsville boy was airlifted to Mackay Airport with a suspected snakebite on Saturday night.
The rescue chopper was tasked about 10.30pm to pick up the toddler from Collinsville Hospital, 270km north-west of Mackay.
He was airlifted to Mackay Airport where he was transferred to the Mackay Base Hospital by the Queensland Ambulance Service for ongoing treatment, but was later released.
The chopper departed Collinsville hospital about 11.50pm and returned to base at 12.35am.
Two other patients were also airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital including an ill 24-year-old man from Hamilton Island on Friday night and an 18-year-old Moranbah teen yesterday morning.
