Two more fires keep crews on their toes
FIREFIGHTERS are currently battling fires in two areas of the Gladstone region.
One fire, in Kirkwood Rd near Nyarla Rd, was called in at 2.37pm and a fire service spokesman has advised that it was being regarded as suspicious.
Multiple teams of firefighters are busy backburning to ensure there is no danger to property.

Houses and other buildings are under threat because they are in the line of a fire burning on Deep Creek Rd, west of Calliope.
A number of units have been sent to the scene, including crews from Turkey Beach and Agnes Water.
They are being deployed in backburning operations.
At one stage crews contemplated getting aircraft into the air to douse the flames with water, but that has been abandoned as it is too late in the day and the aircraft can not fly at night.
