The Gladstone Police Station was evacuated at 1:50pm on Thursday after a suspicious package was left at the station by a member of the public.

Two hours in the watch house for thirsty 39-year-old

A 39-year-old man spent a couple hours in the Gladstone watch house this morning after took another person's drink in a local night club.

The man consumed another person's drink about 2am this morning and was then asked to leave the night club by the management.

The staff were able to get him outside where he continued to cause a scene until police arrived.

He was then taken to the police station and put in the watch house until he was given bail about 5.30am.

He was charged with disorderly public nuisance.
