Two hookers unite

A GROUP of Gladstone region rugby league supporters has banded together to establish a local branch of the national Men of League Foundation.

The foundation, with the support of Toxfree, CMC and GPC, will host "a night with two hookers" at the GPC social club on Lord St tomorrow night.

"We have invited Kerrod Walters and Jason Hetherington to attend," member Chris Andersen said.

"The night will give us an opportunity to hear some stories from the former representative players and allow other supporters of this foundation to enjoy the NRL major semi-final and share some stories themselves."

The night begins at 6pm and entry is $20 for members and $40 for non-members.

Tickets can be bought at the door.

Andersen said the group was working to attract more than 150 members.

"Membership is open to everybody," he said.

"Whilst the charity is called Men of League, membership is for anyone who shares a passion in helping others and enjoys socialising with other supporters of rugby league."
