Tattoo Parlours stung in police audits

TWO Gold Coast tattoo parlours were yesterday issued infringement notices for failure to comply with the Tattoo Parlour Act 2013.

Officers from the State Crime Command's Licensing Enforcement Unit conducted audits on two businesses and issued one with a warning and the other with an infringement after non-compliance issues where identified.

Serious and Organised Crime Squad Acting Detective Superintendent Mick Trezise says his unit will not hesitate to issue these notices where they find non-compliance issues.

"This should be a warning to all tattoo businesses that we are actively enforcing this legislation and will be out there conducting random audits,' he said.
