Two children aboard boat feared missing in Torres Strait

A SEARCH has begun for an overdue vessel in the Torres Strait.

The five-metre vessel left Yam Island bound for Mabadauan Village around 1.30pm yesterday.

It was due to arrive around 4pm but never arrived.

On board the vessel are a man and woman in their late thirties as well as two boys, one aged 7 and the other 4.

Police were notified last night but a helicopter search overnight and air and surface searches have yet to find them.

Searches will continue this morning.
