Truck driver is fined for false documents

A BILOELA court has fined a truck driver $1000 for falsifying heavy-vehicle driving documents.

Alan Barrett didn't appear in court but pleaded guilty to providing false or misleading documents.

Barrett was intercepted by police on the Leichhardt Hwy at Wowan on June 16 when he was asked to produce a work diary.

It showed two false entries; one modified to include an extra hour to a journey from Rolleston on June 14.

The other showed incorrect travel times between Rolleston, Dululu and Banana on June 15.

Wilfully changing an official document can lead to fines of up to $10,000.
