O'Dowd says former Labor MP shows lack of commitment
FEDERAL Member for Flynn Ken O'Dowd says the former Labor MP Chris Trevor has shown a lack of commitment to people in his electorate.
Mr Trevor on Monday confirmed he was considering challenging Mr O'Dowd in the upcoming federal election.
Mr O'Dowd said Mr Trevor's comments about needing permission from the former prime minister Kevin Rudd showed a lack of commitment.
"If he was genuinely committed to representing this region then he would stand no matter who is leading the Labor party," Mr O'Dowd said on Tuesday.
"It's the same indecision we saw in 2010."
Mr O'Dowd said his current priority was ensuring the remaining unactivated regions of Flynn received the federal support they needed in the wake of recent floods.
"The people will be the judge of my performance at the next election," he said.
Would you vote for Chris Trevor at the next federal election?
