WHEN you're stuck on the road because of floods, where better to be than at Miriam Vale.

About 600 motorists have been camping in the small town for the past few days, including a vast number of truckies waiting to get further south.

In most instances the travellers were resigned to their plight and were quite happy to wait the time out, making new friends and generally enjoying themselves.

As food supplies diminished, the Gladstone Regional Council and police instructed travellers to head to Gladstone where parking areas were made available.
